The most important thing to look for, is the volume in Cubic metres of the storage units. It is easy to compare the floor area or square metres, but if you dont consider what height the storage units are, it is hard to decide or compare storage prices. If you are paying a high cubic metre rate and getting less cubic metres ….you could easily be paying 50 % more ..without knowing it, and for no better quality.. That is why ..I have put together the report with a price comparison of 21 Auckland storage facilities.
You can see in the report…. a 6 x 3 unit that is 43 cubic metres for $380 At Cheap storage Auckland a 5 x 3 unit that is 45 cubic metres for $180 All our storage units are 3 metres high.

I hope you find this storage price report helpful. It came about because I found a lot of people paying far more for storage than they need to. Even though most storage units are a simple basic item, they are not necessarily easy to compare whether you are getting good value for money or not. This is mostly because most storage units are priced on the square metre rate of the floor area, rather than the volume or cubic capacity of the units. It takes quite a lot of time to compare storage prices. It can definetly be worth it . It is possible to save over $1400 a year on a self storage unit of exactly the same size. Now , that it is worth making the effort to find or travel for.
Storage facility prices
A lot of the storage facilities dont put their prices on the internet. The prices that are given in the report and were given over the phone, were from October 2011. Some of the storage companies change their prices at busy times. Some of the storage facilities like Storage King, Kennards, Kiwi self storage, National Mini storage have many branches that charge different prices at each of the branches. It obviously costs a lot more for real estate in certain areas of the city.
